Surveillance
The National Park Carabinieri Department “Foreste Casentinesi”, operating under a functional dependency on the Park Authority, deals with the territorial surveillance of the protected area and performs technical support functions. It is organized in a central department command, which manages 10 structures: 1 Park Detachment and 9 Park Stations. The “Foreste Casentinesi” Department is part of the Park Carabinieri Group, under the Comando Unità Forestali, Ambientali e Agroalimentari or CUFAA, which manages the other 20 structures present in other Italian national parks. The Park Department has a planned total of 55 military personnel, in 2020 actually 45.
