Every year in Italy there are several cases of poisoning of animals. It is believed that these represent only the tip of the iceberg. In fact, the practice remains largely unknown due to the fact that the carcasses of wild animals are rarely found, especially if they are very rare species. Moreover, the cases of poisoning are not always reported.
The mainstay of Life Pluto project, created to deal with this emergency and operating in the Park of Casentino Forests, is the canine anti poisoning units (NCA). It was established six nationwide. In addition to our garrison there are those of the parks of the Sibillini Mountains, the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise, the Cilento and Vallo di Diano and Pollino and the Investigative Unit of Environmental Police and Forestry Isernia (NIPAF) Body State forest.

They are located in areas considered to be priorities for the critical issues related to the phenomenon of "use of bait and poisoned bait", in relation to the presence of endangered species of wildlife (especially large carnivores).
Will work in synergy with the "core poison" was born thanks to Life "Antidote" project at the Gran Sasso National Park and with those established under the projects Life "Medwolf" (Maremma) and "Mirco" (Apennine National Park Tosco-Emiliano).

They will complement an increasingly widespread organization that also sees the Alps involved in combating the phenomenon with two other dog lovers poison CFS nuclei of Life project "Wolfalps".
Each Core Cinofilo antivenom is composed of a conductor and two support units that will operate with two dogs, according to techniques and procedures developed in Andalusia. In this region of Spain, the phenomenon has much greater importance and, for this, the most significant experiences have been developed.
Last month ended the second training course that involved the 6 conductors who have been entrusted with the first of the two dogs provided by the project for each NCA. The second dog, as planned, will arrive in the fall.
Among the Life activities are provided information and training meetings for various occupational categories, industry professionals, stakeholders, associations, institutions, for various reasons, are involved in combating the phenomenon activities.

The program opens with a demonstration of the operational activities of dog lovers nuclei at the arboretum Siemoni.

After the greetings of the President of the Park there will be speeches by Alesssandra Mango ( "The Nuclei dog lovers poison"), Giancarlo Papitto and Marco Mencucci ( "The Life Pluto project" and "The illegal use of poison in Italy") of the Territorial Coordination for the Environment of the State Forestry.
