Information Point and Ornithological Museum
Within the beautiful and evocative setting of the Forest of Camaldoli one may find the Information Point of the National Park, where it is possible to receive informative material, buy publications and gadgets of the Park, and book excursions. Inside one may visit the ornithological Museum, which houses the precious "Biggeri" collection, complete with exhibition itineraries and educational installations. In Camaldoli you can visit two evocative religious complexes immersed in the forest: the Holy Hermitage and the Monastery. Both are the expression of the rule of St. Romualdo, founder of the Camaldoli order in the eleventh century, which provided on one side hermitic isolation (Hermitage) and on the other the monastic life of the Benedictines (Monastery). We suggest a visit to the Nature Trail, which winds through the woods surrounding the Monastery. The wood is the central theme of this route: from the white fir, symbol of Camaldoli, to the majestic chestnut Miraglia. Nearby you can visit: the Archaeological Museum of Partina, the Castello di Serravalle from the 12th century, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Badia Prataglia, from the 10th century.
