The road, which from the Savio valley climbs up to the Mandrioli pass and connects Romagna with Badia Prataglia, runs along the very noticeable outcrops of the Marnoso-Arenacea that in the most spectacular point is called "Scalacce"; here we observe the rhythmic alternation of yellow-beige sandstones and light grey marl. The road offers numerous views of the Alta Valle del Savio towards the Giogaia, Monte Comero and Fumaiolo, and the spectacular plateau of Nasseto.
